Finally, after some trouble the link has been finally active connecting both our Data Centers at a <30ms.

• 2010-06-26 - Contract signed with Telia, Tata, and Tiscali fiber will be lit on 1st of August.

2010-05-03 02:20AM MST - I was informed an hour ago the communication between Sharktech Internet Services and China Telecom has been restored. It has been confirmed that the problem has been resolved successfully. We are waiting for the Root-Cause Analysis from China Telecom so we can ensure this problem is never repeated again. Thank you for your patience. 

There is currently a problem with China Telecom backbone causing some destinations on the China Telecom network unable to communicate with our network. We are working with China Telecom and Cisco to have this matter resolved as soon as possible. Due to the complicated nature of this problem it is taking longer then we would like it to. 

We apologize for this inconvenience and rest assured we are doing everything in our power to have this matter resolved as soon as possible.

A new 10GE uplink was added today with xeex. Bringing Sharktech's total available bandwidth in Chicago to 30Gbps. 

A new 10GE uplink connection will be added today via nLayer.

As you may already know we are currently looking at openning another datacenter location in Denver, CO. This new facility will rival our current facility in chicago when it comes to network performance and DDoS protection. The work on this site will start late march and we hope to have it online by end of April.

We are also looking at openning ANOTHER facility in Fremont, CA as well! This location will have one thing special about it  that will rival both Denver and Chicago. This new facility will be 2 route hops away from Tokyo and Hongkong with ping of less then 140ms to China and Eastern Asia. Most ISP connections in asia inspected show less than 12 hops to destination! This facility will be great for real-time application that requires low latency and high bandwidth utilization. The only difference between the Fremont site would be no DDoS protection with IP nullroute on DDoS impact.
